For more information on the City’s Community Cleanup initiative and a list of other community cleanups happening this summer please visit – calgary/community-cleanups  \n\nCommunity cleanups are open to all Calgarians!\nContractors are NOT allowed to drop off materials\nFree event however donations to SMCA are accepted & appreciated\n\n*ACCEPTING* \n\n\n\nThe City of Calgary will be onsite with packer trucks with crews collecting solid waste (NO COMPOST truck this time)\nTechnoTrash will be onsite to recycle your electronics including laptops\, computers (or any subsequent parts)\, televisions\, microwaves\, printers\, batteries (not including alkaline batteries)\, telephones\, home theater equipment etc.\nALCOP Resource Recycling Inc will be onsite collecting any scrap metals\nGirl Guides of Canada will be onsite collecting clothes\, textiles\, small household goods\, books & media!\nWe will also have a FREE TO TAKE area as in the past\n\n\n\n**NOT ACCEPTING** \n\n\n\nNO ORGANICS WILL BE ACCEPTED – NO COMPOST truck this time\nSand\, dirt\, bricks\, or concrete\nTires\nMattresses\nPaint\, oils or dangerous goods/chemicals\nPropane tanks\nBatteries\nCar seats\nGasoline Motor oil\, oil filters and containers \nBrake and transmission fluid\, antifreeze\nOld medication or medical waste (return to a pharmacist for disposal)\nWhat to do with those items above? Please go to the Residential Recycling and Disposal Search Tool to locate where you can drop off these items\n\n\n\nSMCA requires volunteers for this event.
