On May the 1st 2023, a writ will be issued formally triggering the election of a new provincial government of Alberta. The Calgary communities of Sandstone Valley & MacEwan Glen form part of the provincial ward referred to as Calgary-Beddington, as seen below:

While the individuals making up the SMCA Board and/or volunteer groups may have their own personal preferences regarding a candidate & party, the SMCA board & Community Association continues to remain neutral on this matter, with its core role being one of communication & engagement.

In the interest of creating the opportunity for our community members to engage with those candidates on topics important to our community & province, please find a list of candidates formally on the ballot paper – in the interest of fairness and to ensure there are no biases, these will be listed alphabetically by last name.

The SMCA Board encourages you to reach out and engage with these individuals to understand their position, opinion or party stance on any relevent topic.
