SMCA & BHCA COMMUNITY CLEANUP RETURNS FOR 2024!

WHEN – Sunday, June 23rd from 9am to 2pm (line-up cut off at 1:30pm)

WHERE – located at the hockey rink at 355 Sandarac Drive NW

WHAT – Community Cleanup events save residents a trip to the landfill for items that do not fit in their waste and recycling carts or for residents who do not have cart service. • Community cleanups are open to all Calgarians!
• Contractors are NOT allowed to drop off materials
• Free event however donations to SMCA are accepted & appreciated.
• ACCEPTING
  • The City of Calgary will be onsite with packer trucks with crews collecting solid waste (NO COMPOST truck this time)
  • TechnoTrash will be onsite to recycle your electronics including laptops, computers (or any subsequent parts), televisions, microwaves, printers, batteries (not including alkaline batteries), telephones, home theater equipment etc.
  • Bowest Appliances will be onsite collecting very simple-any scrap metals and appliances (Freezers, fridges, water coolers)
  • We will also have a FREE TO TAKE area as in the past
• NOT ACCEPTING
  • NO ORGANICS WILL BE ACCEPTED – NO COMPOST truck this time
  • Sand, dirt, bricks, or concrete
  • Tires
  • Mattresses
  • Paint, oils or dangerous goods/chemicals
  • Propane tanks
  • Batteries
  • Car seats
  • Gasoline Motor oil, oil filters and containers
  • Brake and transmission fluid, antifreeze
  • Old medication or medical waste (return to a pharmacist for disposal)
  • What to do with those items above? Please go to the Residential Recycling and Disposal Search Tool to locate where you can drop off these items
• Girl Guides of Canada will be onsite collecting clothes, textiles, small household goods, books & media!
