On March 23, 2025, Her Excellency the Governor General, at the recommendation of the Prime Minister, issued a proclamation to dissolve the 44th Parliament. The general election will be held on April 28, 2025.
The Calgary communities of Sandstone Valley & MacEwan Glen form part of the federal riding referred to as Calgary Nose Hill (Alberta), as seen below:
While the individuals making up the SMCA Board and/or volunteer groups may have their own personal preferences regarding a candidate & party, the SMCA board & Community Association continues to remain neutral on this matter, with its core role being one of communication & engagement.
In the interest of creating the opportunity for our community members to engage with those candidates on topics important to our community, riding & country, please find a list of candidates formally on the ballot paper – in the interest of fairness and to ensure there are no biases, these will be listed alphabetically by last name.
