JANUARY 2026: As part of its regular engagement with the City of Calgary, the board of the SMCA was provided notice of a development permit submission relating to the rezoning of commercial property in the neighbourhood.
In this specific case, DP2026-00239, it relates to the introduction of a Cannabis Store within MacEwan Glen – to be located near the gas station on MacEwan Drive at #8 16 MACEWAN DR NW.
While the individuals making up the SMCA Board and/or volunteer groups may live within the vicinity of this commercial area, and may have their own personal preferences regarding the cities zoning and land use policy, the SMCA board & Community Association continues to remain neutral on this matter, with its core role being one of communication & engagement.
